nForce MCP network driver - working on FreeBSD 5.1
Quinton Dolan is in the final stages of porting the NVidia Linux nForce MCP network driver to FreeBSD-5.1. He is looking for users/developers with access to this hardware for testing help. The driver currently appears to be stable on his hardware (an MSI K7N420 Pro), although he hasn't done much stress testing, nor does he have access to an nForce2 based motherboard to test.

Hi,
I am in the final stages of porting the NVidia Linux nForce MCP network
driver to FreeBSD-5.1 and am after some experienced users/developers
with access to this hardware to do some testing to find out what breaks,
and what doesn't work. My driver makes use of the Linux nvnetlib.o API
library, and should therefore be compliant with the NVidia Linux
distribution license.
The driver currently appears to be stable on my hardware (an MSI K7N420 Pro),
although I haven't done much stress testing, nor do I have access to an
nForce2 based motherboard to test.
This is still very much a work in progress, but it has been stable
enough for me to actually use productively so I thought I would share
the wealth, so to speak, with the rest of the community.
If you are interested in testing this, email me offline. I am also
interested in how many people would like to see a FreeBSD-4.x version.
PS: I am still waiting for NVidia to reply to any of my emails. :(

nForce MCP network driver
Hello,
I have the an ASUS AN8X7 Deluxe using the nForce2 chipset. I have just started learning FreeBSD but if you want to take the time to explain what you'd like me to do I would be willing to help out. I'm currently studying UNIX so I'm a bit thick on all but the most basic aspects of the OS.

This driver is now available for download, and should be stable for general use. See my webpage for details:
http://www.onthenet.com.au/~q/nvnet
You need to be running FreeBSD 4.9-RC or 5.1-RELEASE as earlier versions are not supported. Support for 5-CURRENT will be released in a couple of days.
